Functional Testing
Functional testing can pinpoint underlying imbalances contributing to health issues - such as inflammation, gut dysfunction or hormonal imbalances.
Test results can guide tailored recommendations allowing for more precise and effective treatment plans; saving time and money in the long run. The genomic test is a one-off test I highly recommend to all patients, as it sets the blueprint for your personalised treatment plan.

A comprehensive test that examines specific genetic markers offering a personalised insight to get to the root of health issues or as a proactive solution to optimize health. The test covers an extensive 92 genes and 113 SNP’s across a number of categories. A health report and clinical research summary is received on nutrient metabolism and digestion; methylation; hormone support; mental health & cognitive performance; detoxification; immune support, antioxidants & inflammation; DNA protection and repair; cardiovascular health & exercise.
Also included is a genetic strength and weakness summary for each section which helps to identify key focus areas for health. A personalised shopping list with good sources of macronutrients and micronutrients and personalised blood work for further investigation is also included in the report.
As mentioned, I highly recommend this functional test to all patients as it is a one-off test that gives very valuable and comprehensive information about your health and sets the blueprint for your treatment plans.

The Microbiomix Metagenomic Mapping test utilises a powerful metagenomic sequencing technique for analysing the genetic material of entire microbial communities present in a given stool sample. Covering 28,000+ microbial species, this comprehensive analysis provides a more detailed picture compared to targeted approaches that focus on specific genes or organisms.
Through a single stool sample, this panel will provide detailed information on the microbiome, as well as biochemical markers relating to digestion, inflammation, intestinal permeability and more.

A hair test to discover chronic and acute food intolerance and environmental sensitivities. It is a comprehensive sensitivity screen that assists in identifying triggers for intolerance reactions. The test identifies reactivity to a broad range of substances including foods, beverages, food additives and environmental compounds. Being an energy-based test, it identifies and provides information on compounds that are triggering stress in the body.

There are many other functional tests available which can be considered and discussed at consultation where relevant, including hormone testing, food allergy testing, thyroid panel, intestinal permeability, SIBO, etc.
If you have recent blood test results, these can also be reviewed during a consultation.
Please note: functional tests are only available to existing patients. My clinical approach is always to begin with nutrition and lifestyle medicine, only diving deeper if necessary (with exception to the genomic test which as a one-off gene test is relevant and highly beneficial to all patients).
